What can I upload or link to?

You can attach JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, MP4, MOV, WebM and PDF files in chat — images up to 10 MB, video up to 200 MB, PDFs up to 25 MB, and up to ten per message. Pasted links are read, and your own footage can be posted exactly as it is.

Can I post my own photo or video unchanged?

Yes, and it costs nothing to do. An attached asset can be two different things, and they bill differently:

  • The post itself — "post this photo", "post this clip". The asset is used exactly as it is, nothing is generated, no credits are spent on the visual, and a caption is written for it. The post behaves like any other afterwards.
  • A reference — "an image like this", "put our logo on it". Something new is generated from it, which does spend credits.

A control beside the attached images sets which is meant, for all of them at once. If the setting and your message disagree, iGentitY asks rather than guessing, because the two bill differently.

A post carries either one video or a set of images, never both.

How much of my own video can be edited?

15 seconds by default, or 30 seconds on the longer model, chosen under Account Settings → AI Models. A longer clip can still be posted as it is — the limit applies only when something is being made from it.

Posting a clip unchanged costs nothing. Changing it is a video generation priced by the length of your clip rather than a typical one, so a short clip costs proportionally less. The exact figure is on the post card before anything is generated.

What you can do to your own footage: add your logo, put a presenter in front of it, remove something from the shot, or change its look. What you cannot do is cut several clips together or edit one on a timeline.

Which links can iGentitY read?

Paste a link into a message and the page is read, with its images and a screenshot captured for use as references in the same conversation. Some limits are worth knowing:

  • YouTube links are watched directly, but only the first 20 minutes.
  • A page screenshot covers the top of the page — about three screens' worth, not the whole scroll.
  • Canva designs are captured as a picture only; the text inside cannot be read.
  • Links to individual social media posts usually cannot be read — Instagram, LinkedIn and X block it. A screenshot works instead.
  • Sites that block automated access cannot be read.

Can I upload an audio file?

Not through the chat's + button. A voice belongs to a presenter, so voice recordings are uploaded in the presenter's voice picker instead — see presenters and voices.

What happens to a PDF?

Its text becomes searchable and each page is kept as a picture that can be used as a visual reference. This is how brand books, brochures, proposals and project documents get in.
